Our Hemp Growers

From seed to shelf, all hemp products from The Cannabis Company are 100% Australian grown – unlike other leading brands in Australia, who import from China or Canada.

It is extremely important to us that our hemp is certified organic; we’re currently working on this and are expecting Australian Organic to soon give their mark of approval that our products are 100% free of chemicals and pesticides throughout the growing, cultivating and processing stages. All our hemp seed is non-GMO. Nowadays, most corn, soy, canola and cotton is GMO (genetically modified organism). This is why they wreak havoc on our digestive and immune systems.

Our Hemp Farmers

All the hemp plants we use are sourced from Tasmania and Victoria. In the near future we will have crops in the ground in South Australia and New South Wales. Before you know it, most states will see our beautiful green plants growing all year round!

The Lifecycle of Hemp

Hemp is a broadleaf plant with a long taproot and, under ideal conditions, it grows very rapidly—fast enough to outgrow most weeds. Indeed, this is why our beautiful plant is known as “weed” – because it grows like one! Hemp loves well-aerated soil and is tough enough to withstand most pests and insects. Great news for all of us who don’t want anything to do with herbicides and pesticides.

Hemp returns loads of nutrients back to the soil in the form of unused parts. The stem, leaves, roots, and tops all help fertilise next season’s crop. The deep taproot helps loosen soil and protect against erosion.

Beyond hemp’s value as a rotation crop, it has the remarkable ability to remove heavy metals, chemical contaminants and even radioactive elements from soil. It is almost as if this plant has been put here to heal the earth. After being planted in contaminated ground, not only does it “clean” the soil, but it can then safely be used for non-food purposes such as fibre and biofuel. Hemp Is Not To Be Confused With Marijuana

Although the two plants are related, hemp products contain only trace levels of THC and will not cause a psychoactive effect. Assuming you had superhuman lung capacity, you could literally smoke a whole field of hemp and you would never get high.Hemp is the world's most sustainable plant due to its ability to be cultivated with ease and grown in a variety of areas. It does not deplete the soil and requires less water than other crops. All of our hemp products are very gently processed to protect all the vital nutrients and maintain our high-quality standards. All you need to do is compare the taste of The Cannabis Company’s products to that of our competitors – if you don’t agree that ours taste better, we’ll happily refund your money.
